Riding on trips is a focus for us, and the last three years we've seen Moab/Fruita, Crested Butte and Whistler. Riding in these exotic locales brings something extra to the sport, the fact you are on vacation and can plan around the rides is fantastic.

So true, big Rob, so true. I will add one more: Four wheels move your body; Two wheels move your soul and music moves your ass!

Great article, Robb. Just yesterday I had a pretty challenging and frustrating day at work. As I was leaving the office, bike on the rack, I called home and said "I had a horrible day at work, I'm going to the trail and I'm riding as hard as I can, for as long as I can to get all of this out of me before I come home." By the time I put the bike back on the rack to go home, I had, not only accomplished a big improvement in my riding that day (improved my "lap time" almost 2 minutes), but I had worked out all my problems from work, had a plan to handle things, could not wait to be with my family and was in total peace with the world. Two wheels moving my mind AND soul.

@Ony: I have had a lot of those phone calls and rides. My fiancee (wife in two weeks!) knows me well enough to not question those kinds of calls. Our house can be a lot happier with those rides.
